Toward an exhibition

This little lidded container is a new proto type which I hope will be included in my exhibition - more decoration will be applied after bisque.

2009 Teapots

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon thrown with an iron bearing clay which comes out during a reduction firing. The Shino glaze is a grey where thick and the brown/orange blush where thin. Worked well for the tiger and not too bad for the dragon which was drawn with oxides and ceramic pencil.

Jade - a proto type this one, just trying out the design which uses an inlay technique plus a few tissue prints.

These are destined for the Sydney Teapot Show which will start on 31st July and run thru August. The gallery is the Innercity Clayworkers at Glebe. This will be my third year of taking part.

In the making for Teapot Show 09

the theme is 'crouching tiger, hidden dragon' so I made some little tigers and will attempt to draw a dragon on later in oxides. I have also made a spare and will decorate it differently.

Glaze Tests

I have made some medallion shapes to use as glaze tests before deciding how to glaze my 'mirror' wall pieces.

More wall pieces

Two more wall pieces one circular, one oval. I hope these fire flat so they can be mounted alright.

Ixa flowers

These flowers came from my courtyard when I pruned the bush - too pretty to throw away so I arranged them in my slipcast vessels and put them on my kitchen benchtop.
