Staying warm

My studio has sprung a leak and is too cold and damp to work in so I have taken over the kitchen table for now. It means I can also get warm water to work with as needed :^)
So no wheel work just now - this is a handbuildt box - needs very slow drying as the slabs are rather thin and the joins need the time to fuse.

That looks great, do you put a gallery inside to hold up the lid? How does that work? Stay warm, I'd gladly trade some of our heat for some of your cool. Ha.

Thanks Linda. Yes, the box is put together then I cut out the lid, add a coil to make the gallery, tidy up the cutout lid and add the knob. The coil is joined under, and to the lower side of the edge left after cutting out the lid. This technique can be used for any handbuilt lidded container. I'd be happy with just 2 seasons if they were spring and autumn :^)

Thanks Anna, yes those two are my favorite seasons just about any where.

Let me know if you try this technique.
