Inspiration for drawing

I am considering making some decals from my own drawings and I enjoy drawing anyway.
My latest effort is this pen drawing of a banksia seedpod which I found near a local carpark.

It is a Banksia integrifolia or Coastal Banksia and they grow along the coast of Qld, NSW and Vic.

It is beautiful Anna. I love black and white drawings and the cross hatching is just perfect highlighting for the shadowing in the seed pods and leaves.. Love, love, love it! I can't wait to see your drawings as decals... :) Annie

Hi Annie
Thanks so much, I found it quite a challenge with the open pods going in different directions. Quite a bit of research before I get to use it as a decal. It might have too much detail? for a decal..

That's a lovely drawing. You've got a real feel for getting the essence of the cone? pod?

I've used decals but never made them. How are you going to print them? I'd love a photo tutorial when you do them. As to detail....I've seen some pretty intricate detailed decals. I say go for it!

Hi Smartcat, thank you. I'd call it a pod but maybe with the number of seed 'casings' it might be a type of cone. I am hoping I can find they type of prepared paper you put through a laser printer, as I say lots of research to be undertaken...

Hi Amber
Thanks for dropping by my blog and for your compliment on my drawing :^) I'll be visiting your blog from time to time. I haven't got into permaculture myself but respect the principals.
