behind the scenes

When we send our pieces off for exhibition we give little thought to the work involved in setting it all up, especially when the exhibition is run by a community group

today my husband came along to help myself and other members of the Port Hacking Potters Group prepare for their National Competition which opens this coming Saturday 20 September and runs to the 30 Sept with bump out on 1 October...

Thanks for your and Mikes help Anna, much appreciated. Also well done to point out how much goes into organizing the "do". I am sure people have no idea what it takes......

Hi Therese
As I've said, many hands make light work - more to come in the next couple of weeks..

wow, that is a whole lot of work, nice you had a Mike as a helper, my Gary often calls himself an art slave. Ha.

it is a lot of work but very rewarding when you see the beautiful pots from all over Australia displayed on them.

Packing and setting up exhibitions is a huge effort. It always amazes me how fast everything comes down again at the end of a show!

I love the sculpture that we catch a glimpse of in the previous post, you've really captured the look and feel of a real animal, it is a lovely piece.

Hi Peter
Yes it clears out quickly at the end of a show.
Thanks I actually have a different work in this show. The glimpse in that post may be off to another show later in the year and I have a third one in firing at the moment - fingers crossed.
