When it is too hot to pot

Summer is mostly very hot in Sydney and the last fews days have been close to 40 degrees Celcius or around 100 degrees Fahrenheit for those in other countries...

My studio faces west and so gets quite hot... not very appealing to me to make pottery...

So instead I have pulled out my jewellery making equipment..

I have one bracelet done and hope to make some more brooches and earrings too...

Hand formed porcelain jewellery components

previously made porcelain brooch and earrings

Love that you retain your creativity even in the vile temperatures we have been enduring. The last few days we have reached 38 or 39. Given my sweet spot is about 14 I am over it.

Hi EC
Your neck of the woods certainly gets the extreme temps. I think 24 is my 'sweet spot' I used to like the hot weather but not any more.

I'm finding dry things to do indoors as its too cold here!

Hi gz it is hard to imagine being cold when we are in our summer. Stay safe - there have been some bad storms over your way this year.

Like the pun Anna! Keep smiling and potting in the cool of the aircon!

Hi Therese we are making good use of our solar panels to run the aircon.

lucky you to have solar panels, Sydney weather is similar to the weather we had in California, hot and dry, don't miss that at all, keep cool, are you glazing the back of your pieces, I have a bead tree but have yet to use it, shame on me.

Hi Linda we get our humid days too as we are not far from the coast. And storms but they are all passing around us so still a dry garden here. Some are glazed on the back depends a bit on the space in the kiln. Sometimes I use the bead trees I made to fill up space.
