Off to Gulgong

These are bound for Gulgong and the ACA members exhibition called 340grams.

Well, the black and white bowl plus the little pig. Thanks to my friend for their delivery as I will be travelling.

Illawarra Flame Tree

I think this little watercolour will become my next design series.  I'll be trying out Walkers Rocket Red underglaze.

Using own vase

The recent rain has brought out a host of Native Violets.  Enough that I felt able to pick some and put them in one of my own little vases.  It was made to test a decorative technique so I have kept it for my self.  The design was a bit blotchy in places so I wouldnt want to sell it, besides I quite like the handmade imperfection.

At the Downing Centre - Sydney Law Courts

Two TAFE colleges have work at the Downing Centre in the city.  I am really pleased to have been included.

As you can see - somewhat overshadowed by the adjacent cafe but good coverage just the same.

On Fire - Student Exhibition 2009

The end of year Student exhibition was held at the Uniting Church Hall in Paddington (Sydney) NSW.

Quite successful for me with some sales.

Last week

Good bye to TAFE (for 2010 at least) I will be trying to find my own kiln and see if I can fly alone.

Moving right along

Despite a thousand other things happening I should have the first replacement bottle and matching plate out of thekiln tomorrow. Why a matching plate - well looks like the exhibition space will only take plinths - so no wall hangings. The building is a Heritage site made of sandstone.

Throwing again

I am back on the wheel this week hoping to make something like these to replace those that were sold at the exhibition. Just 3 weeks to throw, trim, decorate and fire, glaze and fire again!

Sharing Homage at Hazelhurst

There are four postings of the exhibition so please scroll down. You can click on the image and it will enlarge so you can see more detail. Image 1:The four artists beside their work.
All together
A good crowd for a Saturday afternoon!

Trying to explain how Inga's secret process may be put together to dear friends, Thea and Brian.

More Homage at Hazelhurst

This set worked better off to the side and why did I do pink rather than more yellow? Well before it was all mounted the pink on the wall piece was more apparent, however I do plan on making a yellow series next time.
Native Violets are the theme here. Along with tissue transfer prints I decorated each bottle and the container with violets hand drawn using ceramic pencil. This set sold at the opening.
I named this series "Blue Traditions". Sold one bottle.
"Hibbertia in Blue" The design for this one is based on a creeper which grows near our letterbox.
Three together on the wall.
